Are you ready to see Jesus everywhere you look?
A silly road trip game with yellow cars became a powerful invitation to notice God in the ordinary moments of life.
You've driven past Him a thousand times. In the parking spot that opened up right when you needed it. In the stranger who said exactly the right thing. In the ray of sun that broke through on your worst day.
You missed it — not because He wasn't there, but because you weren't looking.
Banana Chicken Jesus started as a silly game with homeschool kids hunting yellow cars on a youth trip. Then someone asked the question that changed everything: What if we looked for Jesus like that?
Turns out, the more you look for Him, the more you find Him.
"Banana Chicken!! That's one!"
Half the van looked around like someone had just spoken in tongues. The other half — the homeschoolers — clearly knew exactly what was happening.
Simple game. Any time you spot a yellow personal vehicle you yell "Banana Chicken" and get a point.
"Not to make this some super spiritual thing, but if we are seeing this many yellow cars — can you imagine if we looked for Jesus like this?"
"He'd be everywhere!!"
“Look at You, Jesus.”
Four words. A smile. Every time you catch one of His fingerprints in the ordinary, say it out loud. The yellow cars are just the warm-up. Start looking, and He’ll be everywhere.
— From the final pages of the book
"I haven't laughed this hard while being deeply convicted in years. This book is equal parts hilarious and holy."
"I bought it because of the title. I stayed up all night because of the story. This book wrecked me — in the best way."
"Finally, a faith book that doesn't take itself too seriously but takes Jesus very seriously. I gave copies to my entire small group."

We hadn't even made it to the interstate yet.
Simple game. Any time you spot a yellow personal vehicle you yell Banana Chicken and get a point. Think Punch Buggy but without the violence.
We stopped for gas about two hours in. I pulled out my phone and looked it up.
0.2% — Yellow personal vehicles make up 0.2% of cars on the market.
"Not to make this some super spiritual thing," I said, "but if we are seeing this many yellow cars — can you imagine if we looked for Jesus like this?"
"He'd be everywhere!!"
She got it. I'd love to tell you some great revival occurred in that van at that moment. It did not. Most just agreed and went right back to hunting their next point.
